Heritage University of Hull

The heritage sector is a broad one, ranging from museums, archives and galleries to rural and maritime natural features (and their interpretation), historic built environment, language(s), folklore and cultural expression.

It intersects with the other creative industry sectors in various ways, such as history of fashion, art and design, the heritage film, digital visualisation of the past.

A challenge for the heritage sector is to embrace diversity and to engage with sections of the community under-represented in the workforce and in attracting more visitors to our region’s sites of heritage.

Northern Edge seeks to bring together regional heritage professionals, academics, policy makers, SMEs and recent graduate entrepreneurs (from a variety of backgrounds) in order to identify skills gaps and opportunities for the socio-economic and cultural enrichment of the North of England.
